Bishop Jon D. Jervey

Through God’s grace, Pastor Jon D. Jervey was born on September 28th, 1974 to Cynthia Jervey (Mayo) and Pierre Lafate. From infancy Pastor Jervey, was raised in the church, attending Scott A.M.E Zion. During his adolescent years he participated in several activities that facilitated his preparation to serve God. Though such activities as youth ushering, youth choir, and Christian performances in plays may seem trivial they kept him in church and motivated him to serve the Lord. In addition to his other activities, Pastor Jervey, developed a passion and skill for basketball upon entering Glasgow High School. This passion enabled him to attend college and meet people that assisted in his direction toward the right path. While attending Barton College in 1995 Pastor Jervey started worshipping at Mt. Carmel Seventh Day Deliverance Tabernacle, where he met Pastor Claude E. Mitchell, who became his mentor and father in the ministry. That year during his attendance at Barton, he also met his wife Nailah and they were blessed with two adorable children, Ishmael and Iman Jervey. Upon graduating from Barton College, Pastor Jervey returned to Wilmington, DE. On February 15th, 1997 where he preached his first sermon and went on to become ordained as assistant pastor at Mt. Carmel. Due to this foundation and the favor of God, Pastor Jervey grew capable enough to lead the church in December of 2000. As Pastor of Mt. Carmel, he began to organize and continue the vision of the church. In 2002 the name of the church was changed to Spirit & Truth Deliverance Ministries Inc. and a brighter vision for the enhancement of the church’s mission was given to Pastor Jervey through the Spirit of God. Through his direction and leadership, a realization of that vision has come to fruition today. Because of Pastor Jervey’s commitment to carrying out the work of the Lord and his career choice he has gained many leadership and communication skills. He received the Black Achievers Award and was inducted into the Wall of Fame at Delaware Technical Community College. His heart is enamored for God’s people and he has a sincere care for souls that are lost. He is known as a true man of God, and a man of valor. He is requested to speak the word of God in churches of many denominations and aspires to always preach sermons that have a practical real-life application. On March 14th 2020 Pastor was ordained as Bishop of Spirit & Truth Deliverance Ministries.
